M may have sensed that something was happening—she was apparently a little suspicious of C’s behavior—but the emotion of the moment was completely genuine. When he proposed, she gasped and covered her mouth. After saying yes, she wrapped him in a huge hug and kiss. Then he picked her up and twirled her around the lawn.

It was joyful, emotional, and wonderfully them.
